Early Adulthood: Special Problems

Although at their prime, young adults are at risk for developing certain self-destructive behavioral problems.

Young women especially are prone to eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia nervosa, often aggravated by family dynamics or by cultural values regarding physical attractiveness.

Young men, on the other hand, are especially at risk for developing violent behavior due to such underlying causes as peer pressure and cultural definitions of masculinity as well to biological factors such as the male hormone, testosterone.

Adults of both sexes are subject to drug abuse and addiction.

This video deals with all these areas and stresses the importance of these problems which, if left untreated, result in severe physiological damage or death.
