The purpose of this workshop is for participants to learn and apply principles for developing the best possible relationships with families and one another in order to support the development of the children receiving early intervention.
Participants will learn to recognize how their stress and that of the family affects themselves and what coping strategies they can use to maintain their effectiveness and enjoyment of their work. As part of building nurturing, professional relationships, participants will learn strategies for supporting one another when stressed and coping strategies to see difficult situations from a more positive perspective.
Workshop participants will be exposed to techniques for sharing their observations and asking questions non-judgmentally. In addition, workshop participants will learn the principles of how to develop nurturing, supportive relationships at every level of program operation, for example: Manager-supervisor, supervisor-home visitor, peer-to-peer, home visitor-parent, and parent-child.
