This video program helps family members of young children learn basic hearing aid management skills. Parent advisors are shown describing and modeling nine basic hearing aid management skills to parents. These include understanding the anatomy of the ear, hearing tests and the audiogram, identifying parts and functions of the hearing aid, putting aids on the child, giving the hearing aid a daily listening check, establishing full-time aid use, and troubleshooting for the source of feedback. The Institute develops programs and materials for infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children with disabilities and their families.
