Product Description

When Kate's mother enters the hospital, Kate is placed in a foster home for twenty-seven days. She copes well for about a week, then gradually reveals her anxiety as her self-control breaks down.

She is less able to tolerate frustrations, often looks pensive and drawn and cries more easily. In play with a family of dolls she shows vividly the conflict of feeling about her absent parents.

Because of the support she receives from her foster parents, visits from her father, and trips to the hospital to see her mother, Kate is able to resume warm relationships with her parents when she is reunited with them.

The stressful time she had been through is reflected in her behavior for the next few weeks. Visits with the foster mother support the transition.
