This is the odyssey of one hundred high school teens who come together for a week-long residential camp experience.
Discover Interdependence is a film about the impact of youth, with and without disabilities, learning and working together to promote mutual respect, beginning the search for imspiring careers, coming to understand the need to promote social justice for themselves and others.
The camera then follows them at home, at school, and in their community for the next six months.
Viewers watch as they build on their camp experience and discover the power they have in themselves in their ability to reach out and be accepted by peers, and in their commitment to reshape their personal and community realities. Appropriate for all young people, elementary school age through adulthood, and for their parents, teachers, and community leaders, this program demonstrates the power of inclusion.
The Training Guides illustrate a comprehensive model to promote and implement integration of youth with and without disabilities.
