The film is set on the campus of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia during the 2002 football season. Walter has lived on the campus for 28 years and has been an integral part of the community, college, and Tiger football team.
He is an icon at the prestigious, all-male school where he has touched the lives of generations of young men and inspired an entire community. The directors of the video led by actor Danny Aiello spent four months documenting Walter?s life and the Tiger football season.
Highlights of the film include Walter hosting his own radio show, his Hall of Fame induction, and his 56th birthday. Rich Lowry of the National Review magazine writes, ?If the Academy Awards had a category for ?Best Celebration of Human Dignity and the Wonder of Life?, Shorty would win running away.?
