This series of short video clips, filmed to teach child development, follows the normal development of two children, a girl and a boy. They are seen in infancy when they are learning about their world through sensory perceptions, visual and touch experiences. And, they are followed as they learn that their behavior is their own, and they begin to assert their independence. They are seen in early childhood as they become increasingly curious about the surrounding world and often want to emulate adults and older role models in their lives. In,middle childhood the children become highly engaged in learning and exploration, focusing on mastering new skills, expanding their knowledge and spending as much time as possible with friends. And, in adolescencethey are followed as they experience increasing choices and freedom and devote time to exploring different roles, paths and options in their lives.

Normal Development in the First Ten Years of Life (NDFTYL)

  • Complete Version (NDFTYL-CV) Consists of 4 DVDs total running time 6 hours 20 minutes with 201 Video clips that range in length from 20 seconds to 7 minutes 31 seconds. The in-depth manual includes an introduction, a description of each clip with the clip length and child's age, and suggested discussion points for each clip. The manual also cross-references the clips with various commonly taught topics.
  • Greatest Hits sampler (NDFTYL-GH) is 1 DVD with 31 video clips and 55 minutes total running time includes abbreviated instructor's manual. All clips in the Greatest Hits are taken from the NDFTYL Complete Version

Normal Development in Middle Childhood and Adolescence (NDMCA)

  • Complete Version (NDMCA-CV) consists of 4 DVDs total running time 6 hours with 171 Video clips that range in length from 17 seconds to 7 minutes 40 seconds. The instructor's manual includes an in-depth introduction, describes each clip with the clip length, suggests discussion topics, cross-references the clips with various commonly taught topics and suggests selected readings for groups of clips by subject.
  • Greatest Hits sampler (NDMCA-GH) is 1 DVD with 39 video clips, 1 hour 35 minutes total running time. Includes abbreviated instructor's manual All clips in the Greatest Hits are taken from the NDMCA Complete Version.
