Promoting Playground Safety

Playgrounds allow children to enjoy an outdoor environment while improving their physical social emotional and intellectual skills. Unfortunately playgrounds can also be a major financial liability for institutions. Children are injured on playgrounds on a regular basis throughout the year. Thus the issues of supervision age-appropriate design surfacing and maintenance need to be addressed on a year-round basis. It is important that adults know how to prevent unsafe conditions.
