How You Are Is as Important as What You Do . . . in making a positive difference for infants, toddlers and their families presents a series of vignettes and brief scenarios (stories) that look at relatioships and, through 'being' and 'doing', what the relationship means to each partner over time. The  scenarios  can be used in group care for infants and toddlers and in home-visiting programs.

The stories  illustrate the overall theme that how parents and professionals interact with babies and young children, and with each other, contributes as much to the quality of the relationships involved and to the developmental outcome as what is done in the interaction.

A 5-step process is outlined for making the stories an effective part of structured learning experience. With each story analyze, discuss, reflect, discuss and adopt (integrate and make the "concept"ones own) ,
