The Challenging Kid: Assessment and Intervention

Among the most challenging and least understood students in any school are thjose with behavioral disorders. He presents a model that is neither deficit - nor label - based, but is a comprehensive skill-based assesment tool for designing interventions with students K - 12.

Contributes to behavior intervention planning (BIP). Behavioral Objective Sequence (BOS) is a field-tested tool for assessing the social competencies of students with emotional or behavioral disorders and to determine developmental appropriate behavioral objectives.

Valuable in placement decisions, evaluating programs, developing intervention plans and in writing IEPs. BOS can be used as a bank of objectives, as a rating scale, or as a structured observation system.
