This tape explores the thoughts and feelings of family members after the birth of a child with special needs. The topics that are discussed include the shock of finding out and the question Why me? that is commonly asked, the effects on marital relationships, how single-parent families manage, the reactions of friends and extended family members, and the reactions of siblings.
The tape presents families in various life situations. This program is appropriate for pre-service and inservice training of healthcare professionals and early-intervention/early-education professionals and for parents and family members.
